People to People Initiatives

As part of our “people to people” initiatives, and in honor of a special guest from the United Kingdom/ Kenya we had a unique program on the 12th of July 2019 at Plaza Heritage Hotel in Harar. The special guest who was a resident of both the UK and Kenya was Mr. Abdullahi, who was popularly known as Abdullahi Telephone. He was such a passionate person in his quest to study about the contribution of Umar al Rida or Abadir towards establishing Harar and enhancing Islamic studies in the Horn of Africa.

During his short stay in Harar, we managed to give him a tour of the Holy City.

Moreover, we organized a conference in a very short notice under the topic of “Children of Abadir,” and we invited prominent Argobas, Oromos, Somalis, and Hararis to participate in the meeting. Some of these invited guests included Sultan Badal Aleeli of Bambas, Damina Ibrahim Yusuf of Awaday, Aw Mohammed Yusuf of Harar, Shaikh Jamal Bala of Haramaya, as well as other dignitaries.
