Harari Garad
The program started with the recitation of the Quran by Ustad Mujahid, followed by presentation by br Abdullahi, regarding Abadir and his impact on the people of the region. I also addressed the gathering about the significance of Abadir in teaching the people of the region about Islam and tolerance.
After the presentation was over, there was a discussion session. It was then that someone pointed out that the Oromo and Somali delegation came with their respective traditional leaders, but that the Hararis had none. This discussion led to a suggestion that I should be appointed as the Harari Garad, and I was swiftly accepted as one.
Sultan Badal placed a Reyhan (Basil) leaf on my head; and along with Damina Ibrahim accepted me as the Harari Garad and they pledged their allegiance and made dua for me.
Thus, unexpectedly began a journey that ultimately led to my being appointed as the Harari Sultan, and a very heavy responsibility and Amana being placed on my shoulders.
Reaffirmation in Harar
Likewise during the certification / farewell program held for the students from Raaso in Harar, I was reaffirmed as Harari Garad in Harar.
Aw Mohammed Yusuf, the head of the Harari Elders Council, started the process by gifting me his shawl as reaffirmation of the Harari Elders acceptance of my position as Harari Garad.
This was followed by Sultan Abdulqadir Yusuf of Mogadishu, who is the Sultan of the Shaikhach in Southern Somalia, by placing his hat (Kofiya) on my head; and by Sultan Badal Aleeli of Bombs gifting me with his cane as reaffirmation of my position as a Harari Garad.
